Partnerships

Without the help of corporate partners it would not be possible to photograph and write about these adventures. Most of these organizations have partnered with Dustin for years. Their gear is fantastic and more importantly, their corporate values align with Dustin’s values and the objectives of his adventures. Click on any of the images below to check out their homepages, and feel free to message Dustin with any questions regarding their gear.

MSR

All my tent, cooking, and water needs have been supported by MSR. The impeccable quality and reliability of MSR’s equipment is backed by rigorous research and thoughtful design. After a long day in the backcountry it is nice to be able to quickly cook a quality meal, and have the knowledge and confidence that my tent isn’t going to snap a pole in the middle of the night.

Esquif

You must have the right equipment for the task. It doesn’t matter what other equipment I have, if my mode of transportation can't handle the journey, I am in trouble. This is where Esquif’s quality canoes come in. Ready to bash through rapids or cross a calm lake, Esquif canoes can take on any paddling adventure.

Kokatat

At some point we all fall in. Kokatat has kept me dry and afloat in many ice cold rivers. Kokatat’s PFDs and drysuits have been a saving grace thanks to the high levels of durability and quality found in all of their products.

BMW MOA

I am incredibly fortunate to partner with BMW Motorcycle Owners of America. Working with a community always makes things easier. I have the support and guidance of experts from all over the world to help me with issues I encounter on my motorcycle adventures. The wealth of knowledge shared through this community of riders is invaluable and keeps me safe and on the road..

Therm-a-Rest

If there is one thing I do not enjoy it is being cold. Yes, I realize I live in Canada. Therm-a-Rest gear allows me to stay warm and rest easy while in the cold Canadian backcountry. Even better, all their gear folds up into tiny sacks which leaves more room in the boat for important things like camera equipment and well, food.

SealLine

Keeping all my gear safe and dry is vital on my expeditions. Without a dry sleeping bag, below zero nights can lead to hypothermia. I am going to fall in the river at least once a paddling expedition; no one is perfect. When I get to shore and see my companions pulling my gear from the river in bright SealLine bags, I am never worried about how much water got in, I know the answer is none.

Pelican

Taking thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment on a river, lake, or ocean can be a test of anyones’ nerves. It would be hard to enjoy the beauty of the many places I have paddled without the confidence that my gear is safely stored in the canoe or kayak. Pelican cases keep my gear safe, dry, and easily accessible for all my big adventures. Solid enough to get banged around in the river rapids, but light enough not to be a burden on long portages, Pelican cases keep my gear dry while letting my mind be at ease in the wilderness.

Bending Branches

Long flat-water paddles can sometimes be painful. There might be beauty around, but after some fun white water, the flat can seem a little slow. Bending Branches has created some incredibly lightweight bent shaft paddles that make the flat-water sections of my journeys a breeze. Motoring along with these paddles can almost make flat water feel like a fast-flowing river… almost.

Bare

Sometimes, its about staying warm and wet. Bare’s wetsuits do this rather well. While surfing or stand up paddle boarding in the Pacfic Northwest, Bare’s gear keeps me warm, comfortable, and allows me the mobility I need to climb back on the board and get after another wave.

Grey Owl Paddles

There are two main things you need to start a paddling expedition: a boat of some type, and a paddle. Grey Owl Paddles has supplied me with beautiful and extremely tough paddles made for all types of water. These paddles have travelled all over North America with me, and I have yet to leave one behind.
